The Beehive Centre is a fully accessible community centre, and our activities are designed with older people and disabled people in mind. This page sets out the access information visitors need to plan their visit. If you have specific access requirements, please get in touch before you visit and we’ll do everything we can to help.
Getting here
We’re at 19a Stretford Road, Whitehall, Bristol, BS5 7AW, right next to St. Ambrose Church, just off the main Whitehall Road/Gordon Road junction.
By bus: numbers 6 and 7 stop close by on Whitehall Road, opposite the Kings Head Pub – about a 2 minute walk to the centre.
By train: Lawrence Hill Station on Church Road is our closest station. From there you can walk up to the centre or take the 6 or 7 bus.
Parking: we have two disabled parking bays and a loading space on site. All other parking is on the street nearby.
Getting around inside
There are no steps anywhere in the centre, and the whole building is wheelchair accessible, including our main hall, the Hive and Nest community rooms, the Therapy Room and reception.
Toilets: all of our toilets are enclosed, gender-neutral cubicles with hand washing and drying facilities. One toilet is wheelchair accessible, and another has baby changing facilities.
Hearing support: we do not currently have a hearing loop installed. If this would affect your visit, please let us know in advance so we can help make sure you’re supported.
Our activities
Unless stated otherwise, all of our activities are drop-in, so there’s no need to pre-book – just come along, meet some new people and have fun. Our activities are open to all ages and abilities (except where an activity is specifically for children and families), and have been designed with older people and disabled people in mind.
